Everyone has a story worth telling.
Through memoir coaching and Guided Autobiography, I support you in writing and sharing yours.

"We should write because writing brings clarity to the act of living. We should write because writing is good for the soul ."--Julia Cameron

I also invite you below to find out more about my still life photography where I capture the quiet beauty of everyday life and stories with light.

What will you do to celebrate your one amazing life?

We all have stories that make us who we are today. Those stories are woven into who we were yesterday and into who we will become tomorrow. The threads that hold those stories together give us a sense of connection and purpose. It's important to honor and celebrate our lives and writing about them can help us make sense of this wonderful life we're living and in turn help us to leave a written legacy for our families and friends. If you're interested in learning more about writing your life journey in a Guided Autobiography (GAB) class then you're in the right place.

GUIDED AUTOBIOGRAPHY

What is Guided Autobiography (GAB)?

Guided Autobiography (GAB) is a proven method for helping people write and share their life stories. Developed by Dr. James Birren, this six-week workshop—offered online or in person—is led by a trained facilitator and built around meaningful themes and thought-provoking prompts.

Each week, you’ll write a short, two-page story and share it with a small, supportive group. The real magic of GAB comes from both the writing and the sharing—listening to others while being seen and heard yourself.

Participants often discover new meaning in their life experiences, gain fresh perspective, and feel a deeper sense of connection—to themselves and to others. Many also report increased confidence, reduced stress, and a renewed sense of energy.

Themes may include turning points of your life, family, health, life goals, and more. After the introductory GAB I course, participants can continue their journey with GAB II and explore new topics.

If you’ve ever felt the desire to reflect, be heard, and better understand your story, GAB offers a meaningful place to begin.

Do you like to write too? We all have stories to tell. Come join us in writing yours.

What if I don't have any writing experience?

GAB is for writers of all ages, and no prior writing experience is necessary. There are tips given on writing your stories but there is no formal writing instruction. You are only asked to come with a willingness to explore your life stories and to see where that can take you. Come join us, find yourself in the process, and celebrate your one amazing life!

Are you interested in taking a class? We’d love to have you join us! Read more below for our GAB Class Offerings and sign up for my newsletter here to stay up to date on future classes and other news and events.

STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography has had my heart for as long as I can remember. In my teen years, I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and in high school, I started taking pictures of the beautiful scenery and wildlife that surrounded me. I was lucky to have an uncle who was a photographer and I have fond memories of walking with him on the icy shores of the “big lake” and taking pictures of the ice jams on a cold winter day. My interests have grown to anything floral and I also enjoy still life photography.

I was honored to receive the following awards from local photo competitions:

*Millbury Cultural Council Art Show 2010 – First Place

*Millbury Cultural Council Art Show 2012 – Best in Show

*Small Stones Festival Juried Art Show 2018 – Judges Choice Award

One of the most meaningful moments in my photography journey was in 2017, when my work was also chosen to be part of a show called Illuminations at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center where I have been followed as a patient in the neuro-oncology department. Illuminations is an art exhibit that changes every season with a new group of artists and is designed to enhance the hospital environment for the patients it serves. Photography has been an important healing tool for me.

Through my photography, it is my hope to inspire others to find a sense of calm and peace in the beauty that surrounds us. Healing can happen in the places we least expect it to. If you’d like to take a peek at my work you can find it on the Fine Art America site here.
